Childhood Obesity : Is My Child Overweight ?
Childhood obesity has reached epidemic levels, and it really has bad effects on your kid physically and psychologically.
I can’t forget that day when my teacher make fun of me at school because I was suffering from obesity. Many times I was exposed to bullying, and I was only 10 years old. That was really hard, and then decided after that to go on diet to lose weight.
When I grew up and became a mom, I have always the fear of having same problem with my kids.
I do my best to keep them away of fats and sugar as much as I can. And try to not to deprive them from the things that all kids love, like candies, and chocolate, but I put regulations for it.
I do believe that prevention is better that cure, so to let your kids get used to healthy eating habits instead of solving the problem of obesity.
Also kids should do exercise, and practice sports to keep healthy body with good figure. Sports help child development, and have positive effect on kids’ health.
If you are a parent who wants to follow up your kid development and weight increase, you can use Body Mass Index (BMI) tables or charts to answer that question “Is my child overweight?”
You can also use BMI calculator to assess whether your kid is underweight, normal weight, overweight or obese.
I Hope we could explain everything about Childhood Obesity
